SKIN RESURFACING

How does StarLux Fractional Non- Ablative Skin Resurfacing System work?

The Palomar Lux1540 laser hand piece delivers light in an array of narrow, focused “microbeams”, to create columns of coagulation within the skin. These columns form, new healthy tissue naturally. The end result – improved skin appearance.

What areas can I have treated?

StarLux Fractional non-ablative treatments can be performed on most areas of the body, including the face, chest, arms, hands and legs.

What makes StarLux Fractional non-ablative treatments unique from other skin resurfacing procedures?

Certain skin resurfacing devices, such as carbon dioxide lasers, use the ablative method, which removes the epidermis and some of the dermis. While good results are eventually seen, the drawbacks include red and raw skin, and a risk of infection for several weeks after treatment. The benefit to using this device is that it sends light pulses into the epidermis and dermis, while leaving the stratum corneum in place unlike the carbon dioxide lasers. This allows for quick recovery.

Are these treatments painful? What can I expect after treatment?

After the treatment, you may experience redness, warmth, swelling, or tightness in the treated area, which typically fades within a few hours of the treatment. The skin may often have a pinkish tone for 5 – 7 days. Normally, you can have a treatment and return to your activities or work without any recovery time.

Because of the non-ablative process, the light pulses are confined to narrow columns in the skin. This means that your recovery time is much quicker and the treatment area heals faster. A series of treatments at 3-6 week intervals may be required to achieve the desired results.

Besides treating wrinkles, what else is the fractional used for?

With the latest advances from PALOMAR it allows the fractional to perform Scar Removal, Stretch Mark Reduction, and Skin Tightening with minimal downtime and amazing results.

Treat Stretch Marks in Just a Few Easy Laser Treatments. Stretch marks are an unfortunate fact of life for almost every adult. Any time the skin has been stretched too far or too fast, such as during puberty, pregnancy, or weight loss - these unsightly lines appear. Otherwise joyous events such as the arrival of a new baby or a hard-won battle for a new figure can be marred by these distracting marks.

Just because stretch marks are normal doesn't mean you have to live with them. Finally there's a treatment for stretch marks that helps give you the clear, smooth, touchable skin you've been dreaming of. Laser stretch mark treatment is a non-surgical procedure that uses pulses of fractional laser light to break down stretch marks and improve the appearance of your skin. In just a few simple treatments, redness can be reduced, stretch marks can be smoothed, and your skin can be ready to bare.

It's a fast and easy treatment that typically takes 30 minutes, yet it can deliver superior, long-lasting results. It's ideal for all stretch marks, no matter what caused them. Best of all, there is typically no downtime with the treatment.
